Lashes & Brows

What is a Lash Lift?
A lash lift is a curl or perm for your natural lashes.

A lash lift is done by using a special chemical solution that sets the shape of the natural eyelashes. This treatment will create the look of longer, fuller, and lifted eyelashes which makes eyes appear less tired and more youthful. There is low to zero maintenance after this treatment and mascara becomes optional.

This process takes about 40 minutes with effects lasting between 6-8 weeks.

Can anyone get a brow wax? Certain medications or lifestyle choices should not be getting a brow wax. I.e if you are on Accutane for acne, brow waxing is not an option. If you have a fresh tan or sunburn, we ask you wait until they fade to ensure your skin is not damaged during the hair pull.

What should I do pre appointment?

  • Eyelashes should be clean, dry and free of mascara, makeup and oil residue prior to my arrival. Without proper preparation lasting results may not be achieved

What should I do post appointment?

  • For optimum results you should avoid direct heat, steam, mascara and other skin care products around the eye area, sleeping on my stomach or side for 48 hours after the application.

  • The first 48 hours after the lift is the most crucial. You should avoid getting your lashes wet during this time, this is so the biochemical effect of the lashes can take place

  • Avoiding exposure to heat. Heat can break down the lash lift. Avoid sunbeds 48 hours post

  • Avoid touching the lashes for 24-48 hours

Is lash lifting damaging to the lashes? The chemical process of breaking the disulfide bonds within the lash is damaging to the lash if not performed correctly. Over processing the time on the lashes means the bonds are either not able to be reformed well enough or they break so far that they over-process.

Am I a good candidate for a lash lift?

  • Pregnant. If you have an appointment and found out that you are pregnant, please contact me right away and we can reschedule

  • Have very little natural eyelashes or have nothing. The gaps between your lashes will be more noticeable

  • Have pre-existing eye(lid) conditions such as chronic dry eye, blepharitis, conjunctivitis and ocular rosacea

  • Lasik surgery (wait a minimum of 6 months from your procedure)

  • Have Trichotillomania (compulsive pulling or twisting hair, eyebrows and eyelashes)

  • Have very sensitive eyes or possible allergies to adhesive (recommended to book an appointment for a patch test)

  • Who are rough with their lashes

  • Undergoing chemo treatments or have had chemo treatments within the past year (recommend to consult with your physician)

  • Are sensitive or have allergies to dyes (recommended to book an appointment for a patch test)

  • Had blepharoplasty surgery (must wait a minimum of 1 year after your surgery)

Will this process damage by natural lashes?  No. Properly trained and skilled professionals ensure proper lash lift procedures are followed.

Can I wear mascara on my lash lift? Yes but it is advised that you leave your lashes untouched for at least 24 hours after your treatment. You may find that there is no need for mascara anyway, but if you wish to make your lashes even fuller, a non-waterproof mascara is advised as the removal of waterproof mascaras can be harsh on the lashes and weaken the lift.

Can I use an eyelash curler?  No. There will be no need for an eyelash curler as this treatment gives a much better result than using a curler, But more importantly, using one may weaken and damage your lashes.
